At McCray’s Tavern, family always comes first. And that’s why we’re reaching out to our family of community members across metro Atlanta and inviting you to help us raise money for the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia.
On Saturday, August 21, the foundation will be holding its 38th annual Magnolia Run for Epilepsy, which serves as the organization’s largest fundraiser for support and awareness of those suffering with the often debilitating seizure disorders. This year, runners and walkers will have the option of a 5k or a 1-mile walk/run, which will be held on the green in front of the King and Queen Buildings at 4 Concourse Parkway in Sandy Springs.
Why the Epilepsy Foundation? One of the co-founders of McCray’s Tavern, Scott McCray, spearheads a team every year in honor of his son Scottie, who suffers from seizures. Thanks to this initiative, the McCray’s Tavern team has raised over $110,000 over the past 10 years for the foundation.
Under the name ‘Sprinting for Seizures,’ the team is welcoming all participants and any donations for this cause. You can register to participate in the Magnolia Run online. Prices for early registration are $25 for walkers and $30 for runners, and all participants will receive a t-shirt. You can also participate in fundraising efforts by dropping by any one of our four McCray’s Tavern locations and purchasing an Iris Paloma cocktail from July 5 through August 21. Proceeds of this beverage will be donated to the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia, and we’re happy to be able to offer a special beverage to mark such a special event.
With locations across metro Atlanta including our most recent addition, the tavern in Marietta, there’s sure to be a restaurant located near you. For more information about how you can get involved in the run and make a donation, give us a call at 404-800-3553.
