How to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in East Cobb

All of Georgia loves the Irish! Including in our little East Cobb corner of Marietta. This enthusiasm for all things green and clover-shaped makes St. Patrick's Day an especially great time to be out on the town. And naturally, boasting that classic pub atmosphere, our team at McCray's Tavern takes those March festivities quite seriously. We are especially excited that, because this year's St. Patrick's Day falls on a Friday, we can anticipate fun events and an engaged crowd all weekend long.
Are you on the hunt for how to celebrate St. Patrick's Day in East Cobb? Never fear, McCray's is here! Check out some ways you can come on down and celebrate this green holiday in the Cobb area:
Top Ways to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in East Cobb, GA
- Begin with Thursday cornhole. We offer special cornhole events every Thursday night, but we expect to see some significant competition come St. Paddy's Day Eve! Grab a beer and enjoy the neighborhood crowd in some friendly rounds of this tavern game.
- Join in on a St. Patrick's Day (or night) pub crawl. Come Friday, we anticipate several pub crawls going around. Both official ones and those unofficial ones bolstered by buddies. After all, McCray's Tavern may be the best traditionally inspired tavern in East Cobb, but we aren't the only one offering a more traditional tavern feel. There are other outstanding spots serving up similar fare and brews, like Bradley's and Marlowe's, that are just around the corner. So, start here and end up there or begin there and enjoy a wonderful finishing round (or three) at McCray's Tavern on the official St. Patrick's Day holiday.
- Wake up early and run. For some, the best way to cure a hangover is a brisk run in the park. Maybe it's not our preferred way, but we do love a good cause! If you're hankering for a run or maybe just a nice promenade dressed in green, join in on the popular Marietta Shamrock Shuffle 5k. This year marks the run's sixth rendition with proceeds going to the Marietta Police Athletic League, a group that serves around 400 Marietta youth via sports, recreation, mentoring, and education programs. Plus, there are a ton of prize categories, including the most spirited.
- Enjoy a hearty brunch, lunch, or supper. McCray's Tavern in East Cobb takes brunch seriously with a special menu entitled, The Weekender. This menu features specials on jumbo wings as well as southern classics like a Chicken & Waffle entree and a Southern Benedict entree that features fried green tomatoes and BBQ spiced hollandaise. Finish your meal off with a mimosa or build things the way you like them via our build-your-own Bloody Mary bar.
