Galentine’s Day is a new tradition among gal pals that celebrates the platonic love found in friendships.Celebrated the day before Valentine’s Day on February 13, friends often gather for lunch or a cocktail hour to spend some time away from their significant others and enjoy quality girl time. Another way to celebrate the holiday is by giving our best friends a small token of your affection. One of the good things about Galentine’s Day is that you don’t have to break the bank to give someone a special gift. Here are a few ideas!
Nothing says “I love you” quite like a gift you made yourself specifically for someone else. Get in touch with your childhood again and bring out the scissors and paste to create handmade Valentines that will wow your friends. Other DIY gifts include tie-dye T-shirts, goodie bags of freshly-baked cookies or a personalized picture frame (with a picture of the two of you included, of course.)
If you love your friends, you want them to be happy and healthy, and self-care is a big part of that. Pick out a few self-care necessities like face masks, cozy socks, a scented candle and a bath product and present them nicely in a thrift-store basket. This is a great low-budget way to give your friend the gift of a spa day that she can use at home!
If you’re taking the time to give your BFF a gift on Galentine’s Day, you want to make sure it’s something practical that she’ll appreciate and get use out of. What’s better than a gift card to her favorite local restaurant? She’ll be able to support the local economy while also dining on her favorite meal whenever she fancies, and she’ll be reminded of her sweet friend when it comes time to pick up the check.
Okay, we take it back. Gift cards are second only to getting together in person for a Galentine’s Day brunch! All weekend at McCray’s Tavern East Cobb, we’ll be serving up our brunch menu with gal pals in mind. From bottomless mimosas and omelets to Bloody Mary’s and chicken and waffles, our East Cobb location is ready to serve you and your friends a Galentine’s meal you won’t soon forget.
